Devon & Pearlene Clunis
Personal & Professional Life Growth, Diversity & Inclusion Experts
Pearlene Clunis and Devon Clunis are passionate about diversity and inclusion.
Devon immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada from Jamaica at age 11, in 1975. He was given little chance of achieving success. Through the help of several key teachers, Devon not only excelled, he went on to become a Canadian history maker; the first Black Chief of Police in Canadian history. His inspiring story is told in The Little Boy from Jamaica: A Canadian History Story.
Pearlene was born in Osoyoos, British Columbia and moved to rural Manitoba as a child. In spite of being born in Canada, she also experienced challenges which threatened to derail her potential. As a child, Pearlene was exposed to different cultures as her parents welcomed visitors from around the world. The Little Girl from Osoyoos explores cultural diversity from a Canadian born child’s perspective.
Together, The Little Girl from Osoyoos and The Little Boy from Jamaica will build an understanding of contemporary social issues, leading to an aware and culturally sensitive generation of young adults.

We are more powerful and effective than we give ourselves credit for. Sometimes, we simply need someone to remind us of that truth. We need to know that our individual actions matter, that what we do can change the course of a single life and impact the destiny of many.
Devon and Pearlene have spoken to audiences of all ages; in schools, businesses, government, and community gatherings. Their messages of hope have inspired many locally in Winnipeg, nationally across Canada, and internationally in the U.S. and the Caribbean. They inspire you to achieve your personal and professional potential.
