She started her career as a critical care nurse and later discovered her innate ability to communicate with others and influence their decisions for positive outcomes. As a nurse, one of her clients invited Alice to come to her husband’s office for an interview for a sales position. It turned out that the interview was with Xerox. At this time, the workplace did not have too many women in sales positions. Alice used negotiation and sales skills to convince Xerox to take a risk on her even though she didn’t have any prior business experience. Alice won the position, quit her nursing job, and never looked back in light of a newly established sales career.
