LEAH GOLDSTEIN BIOGRAPHY

Leah Goldstein is an internationally sought-after motivational speaker, world champion kickboxer, former Israeli undercover police officer, national cycling champion, and a NO LIMITS accountability expert, inspirational leader, and author.

Leah Goldstein has never let anything get in the way of her achieving her goals.  No matter how impossible they seemed to everyone around her.

As a young girl, she wanted to be Bruce Lee. Growing up in Vancouver, B.C. with new immigrant parents, Leah was bullied because of her accent and limp.  She learned the concept of fight or flight early and realized for many, we don’t do either but instead, we freeze.  The day she chose to fight instead of flee her bullies, she realized facing her problems made them disappear.

When she attained the World Kick Boxing Champion title at 17, her focus became to become James Bond.  She enlisted in the Israeli Defense Force and became the first female Elite Commando instructor who transitioned into a special-forces unit, combating terrorism and violent crimes.

The extreme lifestyle of the secret police took its toll, and she decided to move back to Canada and found her salvation on a bicycle.  She was told she was too old to compete but she defied the odds and started winning races.  A life-changing cycling accident in 2005 and the massive pain involved in healing and retraining derailed her cycling goals as she was told she could never compete again.

Leah used her trademark mental endurance to train on her own and went on to win one of the world’s most excruciating physical challenges – the Ultra Endurance, 3000 Mile Race Across America. Despite Shermer’s Neck on Day 4, Leah won in her category in RAAM (Race Across America), with her head tied back by her hair in intolerable pain for 8 days.

Her goal in the RAAM 2021 race was to break her previous record, but she made history as the first female solo cyclist to be the overall winner in this gruelling 3,000 mile (4,800km) long endurance race, with a time of 11 days 3 hours and 3 minutes, at an average speed of 11.8mph.

Leah’s story of the will to succeed, the commitment and resilience to reach your dreams and to live a life with NO LIMITS. Leah shares an inspiring message of strength, perseverance, and the determination will to never give up and empowers all who hear her to push past their limits.

Leah volunteers her time to encourage women and youth. Her Self Defense training equips them with the necessary skills to defend themselves and often it has even saved their lives. Leah supports At Risk Youth Boys and Girls Clubs.

Leah’s personal memoir, “No Limits” was published in 2015. No Limits sweeps its readers into the mind of a champion – battling bullies, sexism, terrorism and more. Leah’s Documentary, No Limits, based on her life experience is very soon to be released and has been very well received by those who have reviewed it.

Leah Goldstein Topic Presentations

overcoming adversity – no limits!

  • Virtual PresentationKeynote PresentationWorkshop SessionHalf Day TrainingFull Day Training
  • In this keynote, Leah Goldstein inspires audiences with her incredible stories of moving forward despite all obstacles in her way. Rejected by the cycling community when she decided to race at the age of 30, she proved them all wrong by moving forward and winning her first race without a team or any support.

When sponsors finally took notice and started to call, she experienced a terrible accident and was told she would never ride again. Within a year she was back and entered the Ride Across Oregon race and won.

She also entered the Race Across America and won in her division. Leah Goldstein inspires audiences with her stories and her mantra that making a decision is the first step but what is more important is to believe in the decision!  Believing in it is key to overcoming any obstacles and it is that belief that will carry you across any finish line.

Testimonials

I always knew Leah Goldstein was hardcore but this book takes any notion I had to a whole other level. This is an incredible story of a life lived from the heart of a champion. Leah shows that nothing is impossible and I just cannot believe she is real. If you want to be inspired and realize there is nothing standing between you and your dreams, read this book.

Vernon cyclist becomes 1st woman to win gruelling 4,800 km ‘Race Across America’

Global News

Vernon cyclist Leah Goldstein is making history as the first woman to win one of the hardest races in the world, the “Race Across America.” “It’s indescribable, there are no words really to describe it because it was so unexpected. I knew I had a pretty good chance only about 3/4 into the race, that I was like ‘oh I can win this damn thing,'” said Leah Goldstein, “Race Across America” winner. The race challenges cyclists to cover 4,800 kilometres in 12 days and Goldstein finished in 11 days, three hours and three minutes. But when it came to the last few kilometres, something happened. “Everything just collapsed. I was like having a stroke or something, my heart rate was...

B.C. athlete survives intense heat to win gruelling bike race and she wants to do it again

Global News

The Race Across America is considered one of the hardest endurance bike races on the planet. And this summer Vernon’s Leah Goldstein became the first woman to win it. But she almost didn’t make it. To understand how she survived such a gruelling journey, you have to know how she became so tough. Goldstein was a world-kicking boxing champ at age 17. That was a start. Her family roots took her back to Israel where she worked in the military special forces unit. “The main lieutenant comes up to me and whispers in my ear — one tear and he kicks me out,” Goldstein said. She has embraced many intense challenges, which is why she ended up in ultra-endurance cycling.

Canadian endures heat and hallucinations to become 1st woman to win Race Across America

CBC

A 52-year-old Canadian has become the first woman to win one of the most gruelling races in all of endurance cycling. Leah Goldstein of Vernon, B.C., is the solo champion of this year's Race Across America — and all she had to do was endure a brutal heat wave that knocked out most of her competitors, power through terrifying hallucinations, and get back on her feet after she collapsed from exhaustion in the final stretch. "I mean, honestly, with all the races I've done — and I've done a lot of races most of my life — that was by far the most difficult and challenging," Goldstein told As It Happens guest host Duncan McCue. "I'm starting to feel more alive now."

Jewish Canadian cyclist is first woman to win toughest ultra-endurance race

The Times of Israel

Canadian cyclist Leah Goldstein recently became the first woman to win the overall solo division of Race Across America (RAAM), ultra-racing’s toughest competition. Goldstein, 52, crossed the finish line in Annapolis, Maryland, on June 26 after riding virtually non-stop 3,000 miles (4,800 kilometres) across 12 states between the Pacific and Atlantic coasts. She did it in just 11 days, three hours and three minutes, enduring days and nights of relentless 35-40 degree Celsius heat (95-104 degrees Fahrenheit), almost no sleep, and hallucinations, to beat her closest rival by 17 hours. She’s ready to do it all over again. “I’ll probably do RAAM again and try to do it in 10...
