Kristjan Hebert was born and raised a farmer. He left the family farm briefly to obtain his bachelor of commerce at the University of Saskatchewan and articled at MNP to fulfill his CPA requirements.  He then returned to pursue his passion for farming. Grateful for being born into farming, Kristjan has made it his life’s work to help each and every farmer increase revenue and reduce risk in hopes of helping them live a better life, and fulfill the food needs of the growing world. Kristjan Hebert is the managing partner of Hebert Grain Ventures (HGV), a 12,000 acre grain and oilseed operation in southeast Saskatchewan.  Kristjan quickly became recognized throughout the industry as one of the best young minds in farming.

After a brief stint at Meyers Norris Penny, he came back to farming with a focus on profitability. He is the Chairmen of Global Ag Risk Solutions and is a graduate of Texas A&M’s The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers (TEPAP). Danny Klinefelter, of TEPAP, refers to Kristjan Hebert as “one of the most progressive young farmers he knows”.

Kristjan Hebert is also the co-founder of a new online platform WorkHorse Hub, geared towards solving a serious issue in agriculture today – labor. Grateful for being born into farming, Kristjan has made it his life’s work to help each and every farmer increase revenue and reduce risk in hopes of helping them live a better life.

Kwame Osei was born in Ghana West Africa. He came to Canada at the age of 4 and resided in Toronto with his parents and sister. They all lived in Rexdale where he grew up and later attended high school at Father Henry Carr. Living in Rexdale Kwame was susceptible to street culture and embraced a perspective on life that resulted in having low expectations of himself. As a result, in his first year of high school Kwame failed almost all of his classes and had a few conflicts with the law. He began to lose childhood friends due to gun violence and he too was once held by gun point and stabbed. After a series of life threatening experiences Kwame decided to turn his life around and make a change.

Kwame attended St. Francis Xavier University and played football for the X-Men, he was voted team captain for 3 seasons. During his last year of University he achieved Academic All-Canadian honours. Kwame earned two degrees from StFX and became the first member of his family to earn a university degree.

After university Kwame had a brief professional football career with the Toronto Argonauts. He then moved to Fort McMurray Alberta and began his career as a teacher and football coach. Kwame helped start a football program that produced various post secondary student-athletes. He also coached provincially for Team Alberta and for the Alberta Summer Games. Kwame is now a coach for Queen’s University in Ontario.

Outside of football Kwame is also an author of a children’s book called “If Not Me Then Who”. He is the Co-Owner of an athletic apparel company called Triumph Elite and is the Co-Founder of a non-profit mentorship organization called Northern Elite Football. Kwame was a cast member on The Amazing Race Canada season 6 (Hero’s Edition) and has appeared in various tv commercials. He has also been hired as an event host on many occasions, a role he takes very seriously as he knows the right host/speaker can be the difference between a good and great event.

 

Kwame has a passion for public speaking a term he refers to as “seed planting”. He has had speaking engagements with teams, schools, corporate teams, non-profit organizations and charities. Kwame’s goal is to inspire change and growth in every individual he meets, he does this through sharing his life experiences and incorporating metaphors as means of helping to create a perspective shift for his audience.

Dr. Lana Rose Potts “Last To Come In” is a Family Physician who specializes in First Nation Health. She provides primary care at the Siksika Health and Wellness Centre, Niitsitapi Learning Centre and is the Medical Director at Elbow River Healing Lodge. Dr. Potts is a charter class graduate of The Northern Ontario School of Medicine in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lana completed her residency training in Indigenous Family Medicine at UBC.
She has also completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Distinction at the University of Alberta. Lana is a member of the Piikani Nation. She was fortunate to be raised in ceremony and receive influence and teaching from her late mother Hazel Potts, grandmother Rose Potts and other matriarchs in Blackfoot Territory. She is married to Robert Benjoe from Muscowpetung First Nation in Saskatchewan and is the proud mother to her daughter Annataki and son Nodin.
Dr. Potts has advocated in many ways on behalf of Indigenous and rural health. Lana is an Indigenous Child Health Advocate. She has utilized her academic experience in a variety of roles including research on Residential School’s and Tuberculosis. She sat on the Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada board for three terms, advocating for the improvement of Indigenous health.
Throughout medical school and in her current roles, she works as a liaison with various boards on how improve health care delivery in First Nation and rural communities. Lana was a founding member of the Aboriginal Wisdom Council, a provincial board that advises on improving health outcomes in Indigenous communities.

Lanny McDonald is best known for his outstanding sixteen year hockey career and is not only an exceptional athlete, but is also a dedicated family man, community leader, philanthropist, and successful businessman. He has addressed countless groups, corporations and professional associations on the topic of leadership since his retirement. Every group loves him and he leaves behind an indelible message of hope, goodwill and good cheer.

Lanny McDonald–best known for his outstanding sixteen year hockey career with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Rockies, and the Calgary Flames–is not only an exceptional athlete, but is also a community leader, philanthropist, and successful businessman who speaks with passion about the leadership lessons he’s learned both on and off the ice. McDonald has been recognized as a leader throughout his career. He was honored as a Chief of the Blood Indian Tribe in 1983, was the inaugural recipient of the King Clancy Memorial award in 1988, was honored as the NHL’s Man of the Year in 1989, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1992. In 2015, McDonald was named as the Chairman of the Board to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Lanny McDonald’s number ‘9’ became the first number to be retired by the Flames organization, in recognition of his contribution and dedication to the game and of hockey, and commitment to his community. He remained with the Flames in a management capacity for several years, and also became involved in Team Canada, and was instrumental in the 2001 World Championship entry and the 2002 gold medal winning Olympic squad. During and following his hockey career, McDonald was proud of his involvement in many charities. The dearest to his heart was and will always be Special Olympics, of which he has been a part of since 1973. Lanny McDonald now enjoys business outside the game of hockey.
