Dr. Linda ManyGuns is a Blackfoot scholar, Indigenous researcher, educator, and leadership advisor recognized for her work in Indigenous education, decolonization, reconciliation, and Indigenous research methodologies. A member of the Siksika Nation, Dr. Linda ManyGuns has served as Associate Vice President of Indigenization and Decolonization at Mount Royal University and was a longtime professor in Indigenous Studies at University of Lethbridge. Her academic background includes degrees from St. Thomas University, Carleton University, the University of Ottawa, and Trent University. Dr. Linda ManyGuns is recognized for advancing Indigenous knowledge systems, community engagement, art based inquiry, and educational transformation grounded in traditional Blackfoot knowledge and applied research practices.

Dr. Linda ManyGuns is a Blackfoot scholar, Indigenous educator, researcher, and leadership advisor recognized for her work in Indigenous education, decolonization, reconciliation, and Indigenous research methodologies. A member of the Siksika Nation, Dr. Linda ManyGuns has dedicated her career to advancing Indigenous knowledge systems through education, governance, community engagement, and institutional leadership across Canada.
Dr. Linda ManyGuns served as Associate Vice President of Indigenization and Decolonization at Mount Royal University, where she provided leadership on institutional initiatives connected to Indigenous student success, reconciliation, curriculum development, and Indigenous community partnerships. In this role, she supported the implementation of Indigenous focused strategies aligned with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action and broader institutional change within post secondary education.
Before joining Mount Royal University, Dr. Linda ManyGuns spent more than eleven years teaching in the Indigenous Studies department at University of Lethbridge. Her work included teaching, curriculum development, Indigenous student advocacy, and advancing discussions surrounding Indigenous governance, Indigenous law, decolonization, and culturally grounded education systems. Dr. Linda ManyGuns holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Thomas University, a Master’s degree from Carleton University, a law degree from the University of Ottawa, and a doctorate from Trent University. Her interdisciplinary academic background informs her expertise in Indigenous research methodologies, Indigenous governance, policy, education, and reconciliation.
Research and scholarship developed by Dr. Linda ManyGuns focuses on Indigenous methodologies, oral traditions, traditional Blackfoot knowledge, and art based inquiry. Her work examines how Indigenous perspectives can strengthen research practices, educational systems, institutional leadership, and community engagement while creating respectful pathways between Indigenous and non Indigenous communities. Dr. Linda ManyGuns is currently completing a forthcoming publication focused on applied Indigenous research methodologies using art based inquiry. She also continues to work within communities to support initiatives that improve educational access and engagement for Indigenous youth, including the development of digital and avatar based learning experiences designed for remote communities and reserves.
