Resiliency & Mental Health Expert – Transformative, Embodied, Authentic, & Overcoming Adversity

Chris Beaudry is a father, farmer, and public speaker who uses his lived experiences as grist for the mill for personal and spiritual growth. Growing up in Northern Saskatchewan, Chris remembers the carefree days of his childhood spent working on the family farm, playing sports, going to the lake, the pool, and large family dinners as much as he remembers the dark moments cast over these memories being raised by an abusive mother who struggled with drug addiction. As a teenager, Chris found himself turning to alcohol to numb the pain caused by the traumatic experiences of his childhood. Years later, two major life events changed Chris’ life – getting sober and being a coach of the 2017/18 Humboldt Broncos who were involved in a tragic bus accident that killed 16 players and staff and injured 13 others. These life-changing experiences taught Chris that pain is to be felt, embodied, and integrated. Through his speaking work, Chris shares stories from his life and wisdom he carries through spiritual practice to help people see that it’s not an avoidance of pain that allows us to feel safe, connected, and loved but rather the recognition and embrace of our pain that sets us free from our suffering.

CHRIS BEAUDRY BIOGRAPHY

Chris Beaudry is a father, farmer, and public speaker who uses his lived experiences as a grist for the mill for personal and spiritual growth.

Chris emphasizes a message built upon personal responsibility and self inquiry. Chris invites his listeners to look at their lives in a radical way, though the lens of reality instead perception. Looking at what really is going on in our lives takes immense power. Chris defines power as the energy that makes up reality. The energy we bring to our lives. The energy we bring to our choices. Power is the ability to be with large sensation and not becoming reactive. Power is being responsible when large sensations and emotions are inside us. The ability to raise your capacity to be with strong feelings is powerful.  To make a choice to not distract or react from these big sensations is powerful.

Chris has trained with many of todays foremost trauma and spiritual teachers including Gabor Mate, Ram Dass, Don Jose Ruiz, Ram Dev Dale Borglum, and Lama Sonia Potie.

In addition to Chris’ speaking work, he is also a board member of The Living/Dying Project.

Testimonials

Several weeks ago, during a pause in team activities, our leadership group was tasked with determining topics for the coaches to find experts to present to our athletes. The usual ideas were shared and appreciated. However, one person suggested “overcoming adversity against overwhelming odds”. For most coaching staffs, that would seem to be an insurmountable task – for us, one name came to mind as a person to address this issue. As expected, when we approached Chris Beaudry to speak, before the question was even asked, he accepted. Chris spoke for over an hour to our women and men hockey players and truly shared his journey with us. He was vulnerable.  He was humble. He was...
