Colin Mochrie’s journey to international acclaim was paved with his unforgettable appearances on both the British and American versions of the immensely popular improvisational series, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Born on November 30, 1957, Colin has established himself as a seasoned actor with over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He is a proud alumnus of Toronto’s legendary Second City, a renowned comedy institution that has nurtured the talents of luminaries such as Martin Short, John Candy, Gilda Radner, Mike Myers, and Dan Aykroyd.

Throughout his career, Colin Mochrie has graced a plethora of television shows and projects, leaving an indelible mark with his wit and humour. His diverse credits include appearances on “This Hour Has 22 Minutes,” “Getting Along Famously,” “Are You Smarter Than A Canadian 5th Grader,” “Living in Your Car,” “Men With Brooms,” “Death Comes to Town,” “The Ron James Show,” “Degrassi High,” and “She’s the Mayor.” Additionally, he ventured into independent cinema with roles in films such as “Young Triffie,” “Inconceivable,” “Surviving My Mother,” “Puck Hogs,” and “Gravy Train.”

Colin Mochrie’s creative talents extend beyond the screen, as he has authored “Not Quite the Classics,” a captivating book of stories that cleverly reimagines the narratives between the first and last lines of familiar literary classics.

At the Canadian Comedy Awards, he was honoured as the Canadian Comedy Person of the Year. His outstanding work also earned him a Writer’s Guild of Canada award, the esteemed “Male Improviser of the Year Award” from the Chicago Improv Festival, and a Gemini Award for Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Program or Series. In addition to these achievements, he received the Barbara Hamilton Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre and Advocacy from the Dora Mavor Moore Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Actra Awards.

Colin’s creative collaborator and fellow comedy luminary, Debra McGrath honed her comedic skills at Second City Toronto, mirroring his journey. Her portfolio boasts an impressive array of projects, including roles in “Little Mosque on the Prairie,” “Single White Spenny,” and “The Ron James Show.” A testament to their chemistry and talent, Debra co-created, co-wrote, produced, and starred alongside Colin in CBC’s “Getting Along Famously.” Together, they have portrayed a husband and wife in various productions, including “Love Letters,” “Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town,” and “Living in My Car.”
