About Craig McMorris

Craig McMorris is a veteran pro snowboarder and broadcaster known for his creativity on the slopes and his voice in the booth. A standout from Regina, Saskatchewan, Craig made his mark in freestyle snowboarding with appearances in major competitions including the US and European Opens, earning a spot on the Canadian National Team in 2012. He won bronze at the X Games Real Snow in 2019 and became a staple in top snowboard films. Since 2014, Craig has brought snowboarding and skateboarding to Canadian audiences as a lead analyst for CBC Olympics, covering five Games. He also co-hosted CBC’s Canada’s Ultimate Challenge and remains active in film and broadcast. Off the slopes, Craig co-founded the McMorris Foundation to help youth access sport across Canada.

Craig McMorris is a veteran professional snowboarder whose career spans elite sport, national broadcasting and youth advocacy. His work reflects a consistent dedication to performance, communication and community impact.His early development in Regina, Saskatchewan established the foundation for a career defined by resilience and commitment. Snowboarding began at age eleven, with progression supported through the Saskatchewan Snowboard Team beginning at age fourteen.

Craig McMorris advanced rapidly through competitive slopestyle events on the international circuit. Appearances at high-profile contests such as the US Open and European Open positioned him among Canada’s emerging freestyle riders.

Selection to the Canadian National Snowboard Team in 2012 formalised his status as a leading athlete. This period marked the transition from provincial competition to global representation.

Craig McMorris continued to develop his identity as a rider with a strong preference for creative and film-focused snowboarding. His work in both backcountry and urban environments demonstrated technical range and a commitment to high-impact segments.

His contribution to the 2019 X Games Real Snow competition resulted in a bronze medal that reinforced his credibility within the international snowboarding community. The opening segment in the ManBoys movie further highlighted his ability to deliver precise and demanding riding.

Craig McMorris also gained recognition through the MTV reality series McMorris and McMorris. This project provided audiences with direct insight into the experiences and pressures associated with professional snowboarding.

Craig McMorris has contributed to Olympic coverage across five Games, including Sochi 2014, Rio 2016, PyeongChang 2018, Tokyo 2021 and Beijing 2022. His commentary for Big Air, Slopestyle and Halfpipe snowboarding has established him as an authoritative voice in the field.

His broadcasting responsibilities also extend to skateboarding analysis for major networks. These roles reflect his understanding of action sports and his ability to communicate technical detail with clarity.

Craig McMorris further expanded his media presence as co-host of the inaugural season of Canada’s Ultimate Challenge. This position demonstrated his adaptability across diverse formats within national programming.
