Steve Bridge, CFP®, has spent a decade as an advice-only financial planner equipping his clients with the tools to take control and optimize their finances. Now, he's collaborating with organizations like yours to make financial education part of your employee wellness strategy. By enhancing your employees' financial well-being, you are improving productivity, reducing missed deadlines, and increasing employee loyalty and retention. What sets Steve apart is his passion for making financial education engaging and relevant, all without the sale of products. Plus, every presentation includes valuable takeaways for your employees. With honest, unbiased guidance from a qualified professional, free from sales tactics and jargon, Steve is committed to helping your employees build a secure financial future that benefits both them and your organization.

STEVE BRIDGE BIOGRAPHY

Steve Bridge, a certified financial planner, has turned his passion for financial education into a career as a public speaker. He strives to make the potentially overwhelming topic enjoyable, pertinent, and engaging. With his extensive knowledge in finance, Steve has been sought out by various media platforms as a valuable resource.

Many organizations focus on their employees’ mental and physical health but often overlook the importance of financial wellness. Yet, stress related to personal finances can significantly impact an employee’s job performance, with almost half of working Canadians admitting to this problem. In fact, according to a survey by Salary Finance, a cash-strapped employee is 5.8 times more likely to miss deadlines and 4.9 times more likely to produce lower-quality work. Additionally, poor financial wellness can account for up to 14% of an employer’s payroll expense due to lost productivity and increased turnover costs.

The good news is that financial education in the workplace can help alleviate these issues. A survey by Ipsos Reid found that 78% of Canadians want financial education at work, and 76% of employers believe that their employees would value the organization for taking a more active role in supporting their financial well-being.

This is where Steve Bridge comes in. As a personal finance professional and expert in his field, he’s passionate about helping companies create a holistic Corporate Wellness Strategy that includes financial well-being.  Steve Bridge has been working with clients for almost a decade, helping them build a financial plan that provides them with financial security, knowledge, and confidence. What Steve Bridge has noticed is that with just a small amount of financial knowledge, their lives are better.  Often, people do not know where to get unbiased information, and if companies can provide it as part of their wellness strategy, it’s a massive benefit to both employers and employees.

By hiring Steve Bridge to speak to their employees, companies can provide unbiased professional advice and education that will help their staff feel more at ease, more confident, and more knowledgeable about money. Steve Bridge’s expertise in financial planning, combined with his passion for financial education, makes the typically stressful and overwhelming topic of personal finance fun, relevant, and interesting for his audiences. Steve Bridge is on a mission to help people become excited about what’s possible when it comes to their finances.

During his financial literacy sessions, Steve Bridge provides a framework to help participants feel more secure about their financial future. He helps enhance their financial management skills and lessens the stress they may experience about their finances.  Steve Bridge covers the fundamentals of money, such as cash flow, money mindset, understanding company savings programs, taxes, investing, insurance, and more. And all of this is done with no sales of any kind – just unbiased professional advice that will benefit both employers and employees.

In conclusion, organizations can benefit greatly from Steve Bridge’s expertise in financial education and planning. By helping employees gain financial knowledge, confidence, and security, companies can improve job performance, reduce turnover costs, and create a happier and more engaged workforce.

Engaging, Funny, Knowledgeable, Steve Bridge’s presentation at MNP on Financial Wellness was terrific! I was appreciative of the informative and useful content he presented. He’s an excellent speaker; he was engaging with the audience, combining humour and knowledge to provide useful takeaways to implement in my day-to-day. Informative and worthwhile, Steve conducted our inaugural virtual financial wellness session to accommodate our members spread across the province. The three-hour session kept the attendees engaged, and the pace was just right, allowing everyone to participate in discussions and ask questions. The session’s historical and statistical information was presented as strong supporting evidence for developing financial plans without being overwhelming. I received positive feedback from many participants who found the session informative and worthwhile.

Fantastic Value, Certainly feel free to reference how well this presentation went over with our staff. I think it may still hold the highest attendance record for a single training session and was talked about the other week by an employee who attended. They mentioned just how valuable it was to receive that type of training from their employer.

Why withdrawing early from RRSPs to pay down debt can lead to ‘regret’

The Globe and Mail

Steve Bridge, an advice-only certified financial planner (CFP) at Money Coaches Canada in Vancouver, says some prospects have come to him for a consult after they've already made the RRSP withdrawal. "It's a bit like closing the gate after the horse has bolted," he says of dealing with these client cases. "You do your best with what's left [of their assets]. The obvious advice is for them to stop taking money from their RRSP and do some cash flow planning."

I’m short on cash. Can I dip into my RRSP to help cover my bills?

The Toronto Star

For one, Bridge says once you withdraw money from an RRSP, it is taxed as income in the year it’s taken out — and the contribution room is lost forever. The only instances when you can withdraw from an RRSP and pay it back are when you use the First-Time Home Buyers Plan to purchase a home or the Lifelong Learning Plan to fund your education.

How advisors can help seniors with high debt or facing bankruptcy

The Globe and Mail

More seniors are carrying alarming debt levels, and they may turn to advisors to help get them out of the red – especially when facing insolvency. “They can make hard choices now or later,” says Steve Bridge, an advice-only certified financial planner and money coach at Money Coaches Canada Inc. in Vancouver. “Hard choices now might save them from bankruptcy later.”
