First Interview about ‘Charting Change’

Human-Centered Change and Innovation

I was lucky enough to (a) get Tanveer Nasser to contribute some thought leadership to my new book Charting Change (launching March 9, 2016!) and (b) to be a guest recently on his leadership podcast. Tanveer Naseer was an invited speaker for us at the sold out PMI NJ Annual Symposium in May 2015, speaking on Leadership Vertigo. His engaging style and background turned what could have been a dry subject into an energetic and absorbing discussion… the room was packed with over 200 interested attendees right through the end. We enjoyed having Tanveer Naseer as a guest speaker, he invited dialogue throughout the 24 hours he was with us and we would highly recommend him for similar speaking engagements in the future.

Gratitude is vital for the health and well-being of organizations, but the workplace is often a gratitude-free zone populated by workers and supervisors suffering from “gratitude deficit disorder.” Brown and Tanveer Naseer compellingly and humanely demonstrate the potential power of gratitude and related qualities like compassion and humility in building “leadership landmarks”—those qualities that are foundational for effective leadership. Their insights address the important yet often overlooked knowledge-to-performance gap that we all struggle with in trying to translate what we know we should do into what we actually do. Much more than another recipe for successful leadership,...
