Massey Whiteknife Biography

Massey Whiteknife is an Indigenous entrepreneur, Two Spirit advocate, and business leader from the Mikisew Cree First Nation recognized for advancing Indigenous economic development, workforce transformation, and Indigenous digital sovereignty across Canada. Massey Whiteknife is known for building Indigenous owned companies focused on governance modernization, procurement systems, workforce development, and Nation building strategies that support long term economic participation and community outcomes.

Starting with a $10,000 investment, Massey Whiteknife founded ICEIS Safety Ltd. and scaled it into a $20 million industrial safety company operating in Alberta’s Athabasca oil sands region. The company was developed through Indigenous workforce inclusion, safety leadership, and operational systems within complex industrial environments, establishing Massey Whiteknife as a leader in Indigenous entrepreneurship and workforce integration.

Following a four year hiatus focused on restructuring and long term strategy, Massey Whiteknife returned to lead a portfolio of companies centered on Indigenous economic development and systems transformation. Massey Whiteknife works with Indigenous Nations, industry leaders, and institutions on procurement modernization, workforce retention, accountability systems, and strategic planning.

Massey Whiteknife is Founder and CEO of Heyoka Technology Solutions, focused on Indigenous digital sovereignty and AI driven governance systems that improve procurement, auditing, and operational accountability for Indigenous Nations and organizations. Massey Whiteknife also leads Koda Cree Ltd., delivering trauma informed workforce development programs that connect Indigenous talent with industrial and global employment opportunities while addressing retention through culturally grounded support systems.

Through Mekiwin Ltd., Massey Whiteknife provides Nation building consulting focused on strategic planning, sustainable funding development, and economic frameworks that strengthen partnerships between Indigenous communities, government, and industry. This work supports Indigenous economic sovereignty through structured development models and measurable outcomes. Massey Whiteknife’s leadership is informed by lived experience overcoming childhood trauma, homelessness, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. These experiences shape advocacy connected to resilience, healing, and systemic accountability.

Massey Whiteknife is also a recognized advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirit people, integrating this advocacy into leadership and speaking engagements focused on safety, representation, and systemic change. Massey Whiteknife gained national visibility through the award winning docuseries Queen of the Oil Patch and the documentary Oil Sands Karaoke.
