MAGGIE GREYSON BIOGRAPHY
Maggie Greyson is a global award-winning Futurist for mastery in future thinking and design. She co-founded Futures Present to help people discover surprising opportunities and unintended consequences. Now is a unique time for us to ask tough questions, “Is this what we want, or what we don’t want?” She will teach you to use uncertainty to become more resilient and strategic. Let’s try long-term thinking, together. Maggie Greyson has also founded Noemic. We are an authentic “Thought-Leadership” incubator. Maggie is on the faculty of the leadership practice studio and will be teaching Strategic Foresight at Huron College at Western University in the fall.
Maggie Greyson gained her wisdom from a decade in the theatre as a designer in the US, UK, and Canada. She played with the past, present, and future at the International Shakespeare’s Globe, and the Stratford Theatre Festival. It has made an indelible mark, indeed added patina, to how she interacts with the world. Transferring these skills to innovation in products, programs, and services came naturally. As a result, her work with Fortune 100 companies has set templates for innovation in digital media worldwide.
Scanning for disruption is the work while enabling bold leaders is the perk. As an experienced foresight practitioner, she does workshops to help you to uncover trends and drivers of the future. She writes reports and custom content pieces for clients and the media. Her clients include governments, universities, healthcare, tech, and non-profit organizations. Maggie Greyson also speaks on emerging technology, innovation, design and foresight at conferences across Canada.
Maggie’s most important work, Making Futures Present has won global awards for helping people of all ages to empower themselves in a complex world. “The future begins… with you.” She will facilitate a fun hands-on virtual workshop for you. The outcome is a deep reflection on how you and your organization will achieve your meaningful goals.

foresight is more than 20/20
- Keynote Presentation
Leadership has never been more important than right now. The World is collectively going through an event that has tested human intelligence and resolve in a way that has revealed that as a collective species – we need to do better! “Foresight is more than 20/20”. It gives Leaders and Organizations the opportunity to spot weak signals in advance – when there is still time to proactively think about solutions. In the following presentation, Maggie Greyson will share stories that illustrate why it is important right now for Leaders to look at data differently and how new practices can transform Leaders into Authentic Thought Leaders – people that we crave and need to lead us into a more utopic future.
The time leading up to the conference, during our conversations, was terrific with various turns of phrases and me delighting in your thought design. And what a result! During the session, I received private chats about how “cool” the session was and have since had many thoughtful comments from students and faculty about framing the future with optimism. One theatre student even said to me that he is less panicked about how to frame the unknown. That’s not an insignificant gift! I’m very grateful you donated your time to this pilot project, which has set the template for roll-out formally across the college.
Maggie teaches Interactive Narrative in Centennial College’s Interactive Media Management program. She’s an excellent teacher! Highly creative, loves exploring ideas, completely out-of-the-box thinker, plus, students really respond to her. She challenges their thinking, and they love it.
Thank you for your efforts in putting this together and the considerable insights you were able to surface. It was clear from the slide deck that you were quite comprehensive in your approach and were able to gather insights from a range of audiences. We are acutely aware that it was a challenging task and the slide deck has illustrated both the ambition we have for the network and the tangible things that need to be done.
For global systems to shift, every stakeholder will need to have some insight into their own expectations of the future. Maggie Greyson’s personal experiential futures technique called Making the Futures Present helps people to use strategic foresight to explore diverse futures. This creative one-to-one or group workshop uses multiple futures as a human-centred design tool pushing foresight in different ways. It is an introduction to the value of foresight to new segments of society providing participants with the opportunity to experience long-term thinking in a playful setting.
