Indigenous Relationships

Jeff Robert is a proud member of Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek with several family ties to the Fort William First Nation Community. As a seasoned workplace harassment prevention advisor, Jeff has a passion for supporting national Indigenous communities from coast to coast. Jeff has worked on a multitude of initiatives within his community of Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek from developing a community member database to hosting public forums to share information about the changes to the Ontario Mining Act. Over the last 5 years, Jeff has worked alongside Northern Ontario Indigenous organizations in an HR capacity with a focus on compensation, benefits, performance management and employee relations.

Jeff Robert has also been heavily involved in the events industry, managing large budgets and raising funds to bring in speakers and manage their events. He has unique insights for different challenges First Nation communities face related to governance, lateral violence, corporate land entitlement and Indigenous to non-Indigenous relations. His presentations focus on creating and maintaining relationships, and to enhance the outcomes for Indigenous populations.

This work has led to the development of the his relationship model, which enhances learning for a better understand common threads for success. His workplace relationship model blends thinking from business leaders, traditional practices, and academic research to create inclusive working cultures. Jeff Robert shares researched outcomes within compensation, performance management, and vision to reflect the ideas of energy, balance, spirit, and flow to be our best selves and workplace as they tie into our relationships, communities, and workplaces.

Evaluating and mapping how our interpersonal and professional lives overlap, and that our collective and individual energies can be directed to improve our connectivity and effectiveness in the workplace. His relationships model will help to decode how people exist in a network of interlaced connections in their workplace, even when we work from different locations. Jeff Robert actively demonstrates his commitment to building strong, healthy, and sustainable First Nation Communities. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Lakehead University and a post-graduate diploma in Human Resources from Confederation College.
